For ADHD, autism, learning disabilities — and the children behind the diagnosis.
Stapoo offers counselling for children, teenagers and young adults with ADHD, autism spectrum conditions, and learning disabilities. The starting principle is simple: a neurodivergent child has the same emotional and social needs as any child — frustration, loneliness, fear, longing, the wish to belong — but a different neurological way of meeting the world. Therapy here demystifies the diagnosis to the child, uses stories specifically designed for neurodivergent learners, and helps them advocate for themselves at home, in school, and eventually in life.
What we work on
Helping the child understand their own brain in language they own
Story-based therapy designed for the way they learn
Emotional regulation when sensory overload is part of daily life
Self-advocacy: “I am different, but not less” — Temple Grandin’s famous line says it all
Rebuilding self-esteem after years of being the kid who “doesn’t get it”
Working with parents on what’s environmental vs. what’s neurological
What we don’t do
Diagnose. If your child has not been formally assessed, Prachi will refer you to a clinical psychologist for evaluation first.
“Cure” neurodivergence. The goal is acceptance with dignity.
Replace OT or speech therapy. We work alongside, not instead of.
Three takeaways
Diagnosis is information, not identity.
Neurodivergent children are different and not less — and definitely very interesting. Very few words, and yet we build a relationship, we laugh, we transform in therapy with Prachi.
The child needs you, the parent, to translate the world for them — and that’s a skill that can be taught.
Looking for someone who actually gets neurodivergence?
Tell Prachi about your child on the free call. She’ll be honest about whether Stapoo is the right room.
